JANA WEEKS 16 years with LAVA
Started playing 23 years ago. Competed on the Saranac High state runner up and state championship teams. Scholarship with Lansing Community College and went on to become Assistant Coach with Head Coach, Mary Jo Hardy after graduation.  Coached the JV and Varsity teams at Haslett High School. She still continues to play volleyball, help out multiple friends that coach high school, assist at MSU camps and coach her favorite - LAVA!

DENNIS RICHARDSON 11th year at LAVA
10 years at collegiate level volleyball coaching (Olivet College,

School...11 years involved with LAVA-coaching, camps, clinics, coaching
development...5 years coaching track and football at Eastern High
School...Teacher at Holy Cross school (6 years) currently at Charlotte

CARMEN JONES 2nd year at LAVA
Tournament Coordinator with Lakeshore Region; Assistant Director LAVA
Assistant coach at Lansing Community College; Coached middle school and high school JV 3 seasons.Assistant coach at WRHS 3A Division & League champs '02-'04, 9th place State ('02), 3d place ('03), 2nd place ('04)
ERIN HARTLEY 1st year at LAVA
Played at MSU from 1998-2002 as an OH and OPP
Unanimous selection all big-ten 2001;2nd team All American 2001
3 time Big Ten Player of the Week;Academic all Big Ten 3 years
Team MVP, highest GPA, highest Hitting % 2001
Played in Jr World Championships 1999 with Junior National Team (Canada)
Trained as a setter with the National Team (2001)
Played 1 year Pro Vball A1 Division (Vicenza, Italy)
Coached 2 yrs at Midland Dow High School;Currently coaching Haslett High School
TOM MENDOZA 1st year at LAVA
Played 3 yrs Circus VB Club, Paltine IL & the 18s team at Sky High VB, Crystal Lake, IL. At Newman Univ, KS he earned conference Setter of the Week 10 times, All Conference 3 times and All American his junior year. His senior year he transferred to  Lewis Univ, IL, winners of the 2003 NCAA Div 1 National Championship as setter. He stayed on at Lewis as Assistant Coach for one year while also coaching the Sports Performance 15-1 boys team to a 5th place in the Open Division of the Jr Olympic Nationals. During college, he played in tournaments in Australia, Netherlands and Germany. He later moved to Denver, CO and coached at Juggernaut VBC, coaching the 16 Gold team and running setters training. Currently, Tom is the Volunteer Assistant Coach at MSU.
